E - governance in Punjab Transport Department
Punjab Transport Department is pioneer in using Information Technology for providing
citizen centric services. Computerization of department started in the year 2011 with
the implementation of VAHAN and SARATHI along with computerization of all the managerial
functions of the Transport Department.
Gradually all the processes of the Transport Department are being computerized and
the data is made available through Internet or SMS for access by citizens. Punjab
is the First state to successfully implement Vahan 4.0 web application & Sarathi
web application across the state.
There are 4 RTAs, 23 RTOs,1 STA, 67 SDMs and 32 Automated Driving Test Tracks distributed
geographically in the state of Punjab keeping the public convenience in mind and vehicle
population within the region.

This is to inform all concerned that due to acute shortage of smart chips printing of Driving licences and Vehicle registration
certificate has been delayed. All approved licences and RCs are available on Sarathi and Vaahan portals. They can be downloaded
on digilocker or any device and even printout can be taken. This will be a valid document for presentation for any transactions
relating to these services. Transport, Police and other concerned authorities have been instructed about this. Inconvenience is regretted. Department of Transport Government of Punjab.

ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਪੋਰਟਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਪਲੱਬਧ ਹਨ। ਡਰਾਈਵਿੰਗ ਲਾਇਸੈਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ digi locker ਉੱਤੇ download ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟ ਵੀ ਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ transaction services
ਲਈ ਇਹ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ ਹਨ। ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਲਈ ਖੇਧ ਹੈ।
